Did you know that in Sworders Field there is a bandstand for musicians and performers to use? It can be used informally for impromptu performances at any time or you can book with the Town Council if you have a specific date and time in mind. There are several performers who have booked use of this facility over the summer months.

From jazz, folk, classic or theatre performance all will be performed at the bandstand. Bring a picnic blanket and dress for the weather- sit back, relax and enjoy!

SATURDAY 17 JULY - 13:30 - 14:15 Cara Sheridan Vocalist

Cara and Jodi, ably assisted by Rob on cajon and Brian on bass, have been playing gigs in the Harlow area for over two years and have a wide repertoire of covers ranging from Skunk Anansie to The Carpenters and U2. They have played events such as Linkfest and the Bush Fair Fayre as well as open mic nights across Harlow and the surrounding areas, honing their style to become a local live attraction.

This will be their debut performance in Bishop's Stortford and the beginning of many more in future

SUNDAY 25 JULY - 14:30 - 15:10 & 15:30 - 16:00 Bishop's Stortford Brass Band

This will be the band's first public performance this year. We have performed on the bandstand before and also used it as a rehearsal space, when we were limited to playing outdoors only, so it is a home from home for us.

We will be performing two sets from 2:30pm with a shot break at around 3:10-3:30pm and finishing at 4pm.  It will be an informal performance of light music that well known to most people.

There has been a brass band in the town for well over 100 years now and we are happy to continue to the tradition which is both adapting to the changing styles of music but also celebrates the heritage of the brass band movement.

SATURDAY 7 AUGUST - 12:00 - 14:30 - The Umbrella Big band 

The Umbrella BigBand are ready to bring you great music for listening, dancing and anything in between!
Based South of Cambridge, we are a 17 piece band who play top swing and dance music from the 1940s to today. From the WW2 band-leaders Glenn Miller and Benny Goodman to the vocal greats of Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darrin and Ella Fitzgerald, through to the current crooning icon Michael Buble.
Our Saxophones, Trumpets, Trombones, Rhythm and Singers are looking forward to bringing an afternoon of music to the Bishops Stortford Bandstand.

Bsus was formed in 2008 after a group of like-minded individuals started meeting up and playing around on one of the smallest, unassuming but most versatile of instruments – the ukulele.  Bsus ukuholics love playing traditional and modern music - and putting their own special twist on it.

SATURDAY 21 AUGUST - 12:30 - 13:05 - Somewhere 2 Sing

Adult choir group Somewhere 2 Sing brings together like-minded locals to sing together in informal weekly classes. Group singing is addictive, it’s fun and it’s really good for you and the choir are inviting everyone to come and join them in September.

Solo singer/guitarist Callum Gardner blends blues, soul & jazz to deliver breath-taking performances of classic reworked covers & intricate originals. After performing 128 solo shows in 2019, Callum spent 2020 recording & self-producing his 12 song Debut Album released on 15th of May 2021.Endorsed by Cassidy Guitars, Blackstar Amplification, Aston Microphones & GHS Strings.

The Muggabees are a rock covers band from Hertfordshire, with a wide range of songs to get the room going, from the Stones and the Clash, to Jet, Queen and the Stereophonics. We play songs that people want to dance to, and bring out the best in them by balancing together the rock sounds of the guitars with the arrangement of our 3 vocalists. We’re playing to raise money for Mind, there charity that provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem
