The Council manages over 600 allotment plots on 10 sites
The allotment rental year runs from January - December.
Plots of 2.5 rods (7m x 7m) and 5 square rods (10m x 12m) are available for rent.
Prices are as follows:
Fees for 2020 are per rod and as follows:
Residents - £5.90
Senior Citizens & Personal Independent Payment (PIP) Recipients - £2.95 (1st 10 rods only)
Non–Residents - £11.80 (including Senior Citizens)
New Tenant Administration Set Up Fee - £28.00
There is a Key Charge of £7.60 at some sites
Fees for 2021 are per rod and as follows:
Residents - £6.00
Senior Citizens & Personal Independent Payment (PIP) Recipients - £3.00 (1st 10 rods only)
Non–Residents - £12.00 (including Senior Citizens)
New Tenant Administration Set Up Fee - £28.50
There is a Key Charge of £8.00 at some sites
Fees can be paid by cash, cheque (made payable to BSTC) or by internet and phone banking (details on request). We regret we are unable to accept debit / credit cards.

Please be aware that there are waiting lists at sites but you can download the Application form for an Allotment and view the Tenancy Agreement which will be completed by the administrator on allocation of a plot. .
We have recently introduced the possibility to keep bees and hens subject to appropriate rules.

Bishop's Stortford Garden and Allotment Association BSAGA
Many of our allotment holders are members of the Bishop's Stortford Allotments And Gardens Assiociation (www.bsaga.btck.co.uk) which offers useful advice and fellowship.
Membership costs just £3.00 per year & the allotment shop can be found at Ward Crescent Allotment site CM23 3GJ on a Sunday morning January, October & November 10.00am to 11.00am
February - September 10.00am - 12.00am. Please see their website for a comprehensive & competative range of products.
The Best Kept Plot Competition 2020
Taking photos of the 2 best kept plots on each will be done by the site agents during June and July.
The best on site and the best kept plot overall will be chosen by the Mayor Norma Symonds in August.

The site winners will receive the 1st 5 rods of their holdings free of charge for 2021,
and the overall winner will also receive a box of chocolates or a bottle of wine. In
addition the BSAGA will give a year's Free membership to their Association to the site
winners and the overall winner will also be able to choose a bag of compost of their choice.
Well done to everyone in this most difficult of years. I am pleased to annouce that the overall winner
was judged to be plot 1 Barrels Down Road. Congratulations, bottle of red wine and a bag of compost are on their way to this plotholder!
