The Town Council provides local services for the residents and visitors.  These include management of the cemetery, the allotments, St Michael's churchyard open spaces and parks including the paddling pool and the Tourist Information Centre. It also administers Community centres and  minibuses as well as several charitable trusts and organises numerous Town Centre events including the Carnival, the Remembrance Service and charity balls and other events.

There are 18 Councillors who give their time and effort voluntarily.  The Chief Executive, James Parker, his assistant, the Tourist Information staff, the office staff and the outdoor workers are paid.  

   

Saturday Surgery 

A Councillor is available in the Council Chamber, The Old Monastery, Windhill, between 10am and 12noon on the most Saturdays (as shown below) .  Residents are welcome to drop in to discuss any matters of interest.
