  • T.Rextasy - The Marc Bolan 40th Commemorative Anniversary Tour

    Wednesday, January 25, 2017 - 8:00pm

Marc Bolan, with his band T.Rex, was one of the most flamboyant and charismatic stars of the original glam rock era. It’s hard to believe that forty years have now passed since Marc’s tragic fatal car accident and fans have mourned the loss of a truly individual, inspirational talent ever since. Bolan's special ingredient of Rock-a-Boogie songs including '20th Century Boy’, ‘Get it On’ and 'I Love to Boogie' have insured that Marc Bolan and T.Rex have become one of the most memorable and enduring bands of the seventies.
T.Rextasy have now been performing around the world for over 20 years, a career that ironically out lives Marc’s very own T.Rex. They have become widely accepted as the world’s only official tribute show dedicated to Marc Bolan & T.Rex, and the only band endorsed and approved by Marc’s family, estate and catalogue management, not to mention original members of T.Rex. The band has been described by many as ‘beyond the boundaries of tribute’.
This year T.Rextasy are celebrating Marc’s life and works with a very special commemorative tour. Truly a rock’n’roll concert for all ages.
If you would like to know exactly what a Marc Bolan concert was like in the 1970's, this show is for you!
"They’re the closest you’re ever going to get to the real thing." Bill Legend (Original T.Rex drummer)
“Danielz just freaks me out!” Mickey Finn (Original T.Rex percussionist)
"T.Rextasy are the tribute act who break all the rules by being bloody brilliant. Danielz is an exact replica of Marc, he’s uncanny." The Independent on Sunday
"Danielz is a curator of Bolan’s life, a perfectionist protector of the legacy – T.Rextasy play with a poignant, flamboyant skill." The Observer
"Danielz looks and sounds uncannily like Bolan and has dedicated his life to the man." The Times
“Danielz is more than a career lookalike. Here we have a serious guitarist with the animal grace of early Bolan and the clear unequivocal love of the music.” The Stage

  • Comedy Night @ Rhodes

    Thursday, January 26, 2017 - 8:00pm

A chance to see the hottest upcoming comedians on the circuit LIVE in Bishop's Stortford…..
Headlining tonight is Gareth Richards. His hilarious stand-up, silly jokes and gorgeously low-key comedy songs have made him an instant favourite on the comedy circuit. Gareth co-hosted Frank Skinner’s Sony award-winning Absolute Radio show for two years and supported Frank on his 2014 tour.
“A quietly-clever craftsman with a big future” Evening Standard

Jack Barry is probably the only stand up on the circuit with a degree in Chinese. What a waste. After excitedly stumbling his way around the stand up and sketch circuits, performing at nights for CKP, Knock 2 Bag, the Invisible Dot and the BBC Comedy Tent in Edinburgh, Jack then went on to support James Acaster on the UK tours of Edinburgh Award-nominated shows Prompt and Lawnmower.
“A distinctive wit that should make him one to watch” Chortle

and your MC for the evening...
James Loveridge is not only an entertaining storyteller, but his cheeky and charming personality mean he can warm any room and endear himself to practically any crowd. He performed his debut hour show ‘Funny Because It’s True’ at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2014, a sold out run, it was loved by both audience and critics alike.
“Undoubtedly the best free show that I have seen at the Fringe” Broadway Baby

  • The Elvis Years - The Story of The King

    Saturday, January 28, 2017 - 7:30pm

Celebrating 10 years on the road this year, The Elvis Years is an outstanding musical production which brings to the stage the incredible and compelling story of the ‘king of rock and roll’ - Elvis Presley. With a top line-up of actor-musicians, multiple costume changes and nostalgic film footage, this glittering two-hour production charts the musical and emotional highs and lows of Elvis’ amazing journey from poor truck-driving teenager from Tupelo, Mississippi through the army, Hollywood and finally the legendary Las Vegas concerts.
Directed by top record producer David Mackay (Dusty Springfield, Cliff Richard, Bonnie Tyler, New Seekers), the lead role is perfectly portrayed by Mario Kombou (from West End production Jailhouse Rock), who is officially endorsed by Elvis Presley Enterprises and Elvis’ first cousin Donna Presley.
This feelgood show will instantly transport you back to the golden years of rock’n’roll, as you witness Elvis audition for the very first time at Sun Studios, then become part of the TV audience for the '68 Comeback Special, and finally dance in the aisles at a Las Vegas concert as Mario recreates with incredible accuracy the charisma, stage presence and humour of the man himself - you may even get your hands on a scarf!
Taking in all the biggest hits including Always On My Mind, (recently voted the UK's all-time favourite Elvis song), That’s Alright Mama, All Shook Up, Blue Suede Shoes, Suspicious Minds, American Trilogy as well as Hollywood favourites Bossa Nova Baby and Viva Las Vegas, you will leave the building on cloud 9!!
