Inspired by Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet with a breathtaking musical score by Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim, West Side Story is probably the most iconic musical of all time and in 2013 The Times Newspaper voted in No. 1 in the 'Ultimate Musicals of All Time' list. The tragic story of a love that crosses boundaries on the gang infested streets of New York features some of the most popular songs in musical theatre history including Maria, America, Tonight and Gee, Officer Krupke! Now, following on from the critical and box office success of both Oliver! and Annie, Phoenix Theatre Arts bring this production to the Rhodes stage for the first time in its history.

  • Healthwatch Hertfordshire

    Wednesday, September 24, 2014 - 4:30pm

Healthwatch Hertfordshire, your independent health and social care watchdog, has just completed months of intensive work; including street surveys, focus groups, data analysis, and composing recommendations, all to produce our first GP Access report.

Focusing on the Stort Valley and Villages area and working closely with everyone involved in delivering these services, the hope is that these recommendations will have a real impact on the quality of service received by not only the people in the catchment area, but across Hertfordshire.

The aim of this report is for it to act as a springboard, enabling the people who use these services to not only see where problems may exist, but find out how to change them, with Healthwatch Hertfordshire supporting them as they do so.

The launch is going to be held at 4.30 pm on the 24th of September at Markwell Pavilion, Bishop’s Stortford.

Everyone is welcome, but we’re especially keen that the people who use these services know about this report and come to the launch. If you would like to come, please get in touch with us on 01707 275 978, or email us at info@healthwatchhertfordshire.co.uk

    10am-6pm
Celebrate all things apple at Audley End.
From bobbing and weaving to trapping and tasting, apples have never been so appetising!
Gobble down the golden delicious treats in the tea room,
see how the Victorians would have cooked a pink lady in the service wing,
and enjoy pressing – and tasting! – royal galas in the garden.
Become a bobbing champion before meeting the Victorian gardener to learn
how to deal with harvest pests in the orchard, while falconers show how they dealt with them in the field.
Get hands on as you draw back your archers bow, spin the pottery wheel
and weave with coppice wood to create an autumnal animal.
With over 150 varieties of apple in the organic kitchen garden,
the expert garden team will be on hand to share top tips, tours and pruning demos for green fingered fans.
All this and a local folk band playing traditional tunes throughout the weekend makes this festival the apple of everyone’s eye!
