On The Beat: Stories from 1914-1918Tuesday, August 5, 2014 - 1:00am to Friday, May 15, 2020 - 1:00am
This special exhibition showcases work by students and ex-students from Middlesex University’s illustration department, who will use the medium of graphic novels to bring the stories of the home front to life. Special school visits are available by appointment – please contact the museum: firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone on 01279 651746
Copies of the accompanying Graphic Novel : ‘On the Beat during the Great War’ are available for sale from Rhodes.

Sing-a-long-a Sound Of MusicThursday, May 28, 2015 - 8:00pm to Friday, May 29, 2015 - 12:00am
The smash-hit musical show that has been all around the world now returns to the UK for the 50th anniversary of the iconic movie. Yes the original Sing-a-long-a show is back. The spring 2015 UK tour celebrates the film’s half century, giving it a birthday party to remember.
Sing-a-long-a Sound of Music is your chance to test your vocal range with several hundred other assorted nuns, Von Trapp family members and Julie Andrews look-a-likes.
The evening begins with a live show in which your host will lead you through a vocal warm-up, judge the fancy dress competition and award the prizes. Costumes are not compulsory but they are highly recommended and you will be amazed at the inventiveness on display. The host will then show you how to use your free fun pack throughout the film and suggest some appropriate heckles and accompanying actions (such as hissing the countess, barking at Rolf and, of course, cheering for Julie).
Then, you sit back and watch the original 1965 movie in glorious Technicolor (™) with the lyrics for all the songs on the screen, so you won’t miss a chance to sing your hearts out. The audience takes over as the star of the show from this point and almost anything can happen – the first rule of Sing-a-long-a is THERE ARE NO RULES!
This event is raising money for Epping Breast Unit.
