Bishop’s Stortford Town Council is seeking enthusiastic VOLUNTEERS to join its NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN TEAM.

Neighbourhood planning, part of the Government’s localism agenda, is the way for the local community to have a direct say in development. A plan once completed has statutory force. The Neighbourhood plan will cover Silver Leys and Meads Wards* which includes the whole of the ‘ASRs’ – areas to the North West of the town identified for potential new housing. A neighbourhood plan can shape development but it cannot block development which is part of the local plan.

We need a small but dedicated team of individuals who can represent local views, are keen and can commit time (some of which may be during working hours) during the next 12 months or more.

For further information and to apply visit www.bishopsstortfordtc.gov.uk/neighbourhoodplan or call 01279 652274 for an information pack

Note: The formal designation of the area to be considered in the plan is subject to confirmation which is expected in December 2012
