Neighbourhood Planning

Neighbourhood Plans give the local community a legally binding say in the planning of new development and are as important as documents created by East Herts District Council.  

The Neighbourhood plan for Silverleys and Meads Ward is now in force following a 93% majority in favour at referendum  We are now creating the plan for All Saints, Central and South Wards (and a part of Thorley parish).

Bishop's Stortford History

The town of Bishop's Stortford took its origin from, and has grown up around, the ford over the river, which is now known as the Stort. Archaeological evidence shows that the Romans had several roads across the area, at least one of which crossed the river in the vicinity of what are now known as the Town Meads.

Rhodes Arts Complex & Bishop's Stortford Museum

A contemporary venue for the arts and the home of the Bishop’s Stortford Museum and Thorleybourne Gallery. The Complex provides a varied programme of arts events and hosts professional touring productions, dance groups, musicians and comedians.
